This artwork was made for my MFA Degree Show at Slade School of Fine Art in June 2024. Play and drawing are two deeply important aspects of my wider practice, it was fun to make something people could buy as a little token. Each object has three different original drawings, so you won’t know what you’re going to get!! The drawings are signed.
The spinning top can be assembled as one likes but suggested instructions are below. The spinning top is an ephemeral object and unlikely to survive for very long.

includes:
WOODEN STICK
PAPER SKIRT
PLASTICINE

1.   REMOVE MATERIALS FROM POCKET
2.   UNFOLD PAPER SKIRT
3.   ASSEMBLE THE WOODEN STICK AND PAPER SKIRT USING TWO BALLS OF PLASTICINE TO HOLD TOGETHER
4.   SPIN!

TIP: roll the plasticine into two balls, then roll each into a sausage shape.
Mould around the wooden stick pressing together to hold the paper skirt in
place. You probably won’t need all the plasticine provided!

This is a made art object with original drawing.

Please note:

- this is not a children’s toy.
- contains small parts
- the materials to make the spinning top have been handled
with  care and protective gloves.
- the plasticine is from the brand STAEDTLER® and called NORIS PLASTICINE.
